Hello once again from Ukraine! Thank you
for all of your prayers and support for us throughout our trip! The Lord really
blessed our weeks of teaching and fellowshipping with our translators.
We finished off our last day of camp
yesterday. The last day of camp always brings mixed emotions. You are looking
forward to going home but at the same time sad to see the kids go and leave the
friendships you have made. The kids did great with their dramas and showing off
their English skills!
On Friday after saying goodbye to
students and translators we spent the evening relaxing and having some down
time. Many team members are tired. They are sleeping well but it is definitely
a whirl wind to come to another country, teach with a translator and stay busy
with the other ministry nights that take place.
This morning we spent a few hours
debriefing. We split up into small groups and then joined back together to
share stories of what we have experienced. Debriefing is a way to mentally and
emotionally unpack from the trip with the people you are around but it doesn’t
just happen here in the country. There is also an amount of unpacking that
takes place when team members go home. You leave and come back a new person.
You see things and experience things that you don’t experience on a regular
basis. Our prayer is that our team members, no matter how many trips they have
been on will go home with something new that the Lord revealed to them and that
they would apply that to their life at home.
If you have been reading our blog and are interested in joining us next summer in Ukraine or possibly another country please contact us and we can give you some information! We are always excited about people who are genuinely interested in finding out what God is doing
all over the world and how they can par take in that too!
Tonight we will spend an evening in
Odessa eating one last meal together! Tomorrow the team will head out from
Odessa and have an overnight in Munich. They will fly home on Monday
morning.
Our family plus two of our Ukraine team members ( Matt & Tyler) will trek it over to Hungary on Monday! This will be the very first Hungarian English Language Bible Camp we have done! Prayers are appreciated :)
Grace and Peace,
John & Nichole
