Hello Hungary + Prayer Request

Hello Everyone!

We arrived safely in Hungary on Monday evening. We had no issues with our flights or luggage! The internet connection has been a little sparse that is why we haven't posted anything since Monday afternoon.
Getting ready to leave the Odessa airport with our crew
Elisabeth was REALLY tired by the time we arrived at our housing on Monday evening
We have been able to get a little bit of rest time in. The kids are really cranky so it hasn't quite been relaxing for us but it has been nice to not be busy with a camp agenda.

We have done some walking around. This city is very beautiful. The architecture and buildings are amazing. This city reminds us a lot of Prague. We began buying some gifts for our supporters and have had some time to chat with each other.

Our team arrives in this evening just before 5:00. We will travel with our EEMN Missionary Scott by public transport today to pick the team up at the airport while Kate and our friend Tyler with stay back with the kids. Tomorrow morning we will begin with some orientation.

This year we are really feel stretched as parents. We are definitely be challenged to live with more patience and humility. Will's behavior is not what it typically is at home. He is behaving in ways that he has never done before and it seems like Elisabeth is screaming and crying all day long. It is all quite embarrassing as a chunk of it takes place in grocery stores, parks, crowded streets, meals with the team, etc. Will has started screaming at the top of his lungs and running away from us, even in busy areas with people. We just aren't sure how to handle certain situations and we need prayer from you and wisdom from the Lord to how to handle the next two weeks. It is very discouraging but we know that God is using it to show us new things.  Please pray for us. It is difficult to be discouraged and distracted and trying to lead a team the proper way.

Talk to you soon.
John & Nichole

  2. It is hard for adults to do such long strenuous trips, I can only imagine it is much harder on children. They don't understand distances. They don't understand why they can't sleep in their own bed each night. They don't understand why they can't play with their own toys everyday and thinking where did my toys go. They don't understand why they can't go to their local swimming pool, eat their normal food, see all the family and friends they usually see, do all their normal things etc....Their whole world and routine has changed and keeps changing. They don't have mommy and daddy to themselves, there are always people around. Their too young to understand. So, they are acting out. Maybe, you could take a little time out of each day where just the four of you go do something together. No one else. I am totally anti McDonanld's on a foreign trip, but take them to McDonald's. Or, go swimming. Something familiar. I know I'm not a mom, but I know my goddaughter is a whole new person on trips, even short trips. I know a lot of kids are that way. I will pray that things get better. I'm sorry things are to trying. But, maybe some normalcy in the routine will help. I love you guys bunches. Your Aunt in MA
