Week 2-Camp Day 1

We have begun our second week of camp! This week we have 74 students. Some of our class sizes are smaller but this could be because we have two weeks of camp that are in villages very close together. There are a few students who attended camp last week that have also decided to join this week. The school staff is very excited for us to be here and everyone is so welcoming! The last camp we had at this school was three years ago. It was really neat that some of the staff remembered those who had been at the school before.

This past weekend we were able to get some rest in Odessa. Some of the team went out sightseeing, some went shopping for souvenirs and some stayed back at the housing to relax. We went on a boat tour. This was an interesting experience. We walked for about 30 or so minutes to get to the place. We got on the boat...waited for 50 minutes just for the boat to leave...and then we went for a boat ride along the coast. Ha ha. Needless to say the kids were a bit restless by the time we got off. Then when we got off of the boat we were heading back to town and it started pouring rain. It was a nice day ha ha :)

On Sunday morning we headed back to Petrodolina to take part in the first Bible School Graduation. The same Pastor who helps us to plan the English Bible Camp is also over the very first Bible School in Ukraine. It was really special for our team to see this first group of students complete their year. There were nine students who graduated.

We anticipate this week of camp to go a bit smoother since many teachers have worked out the kinks in their lesson plans in the previous week. This makes it easier to focus on the relationship aspect of the classroom. We gained a few new translators this week also. We have been really blessed by our translator’s dedication to helping make this camp possible. Without them our camp would be impossible.

Please pray for our team member Amber. She has been sick since Friday. We think her body is trying to flush out some type of stomach bacteria. No one else is sick but there are many who are tired. Pray for them to get good rest at night.
Thanks for reading our blog! We have a had a lot of traffic this year! Thank you thank you!!
