Hello everyone! Today we finished our second day of English Bible Camp! Our first day definitely had some hiccups but that is to be expected for the first day of a new camp. Everyone at the school is so welcoming and friendly! The staff and translators are helpful and glad we came to do the camp.
This year our
theme is “living in love”, with lessons from the life of Jesus. John 3:16 is
our theme verse,” For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son
that who so every believes in Him will not perish but have every lasting life.”
We are
teaching in a Lutheran School that is connected with the local Lutheran
congregation. The facility is very nice and has a wonderful room for us to do
music in!
We have fifty students
attending camp this week divided up by six classes. The age of our students are
eight to twelve years old. The students have very good English skills! We were
surprised at how well they could speak.
Our first day of camp was quite a long day!
We left our housing at 6:45 a.m. and returned at 5:00 p.m. We ate our first
dinner together and had a debriefing meeting at 8:00 p.m. The days here will
definitely be full and tiring. Our team has done very well with being flexible
and “going with the flow”. Each evening
this week there will be some team meetings and hanging out together. But
our main focus and energy is saved for our days with our students at camp.
We are
thankful for all of your prayers and support! Stay tuned for more e-mails this
week! Testimony from team members:
Students who are excited to be at camp!
A great first two days!
Prayer Requests:
Ask the Holy Spirit to guide our teachers with what to say and when to say it.
Pray for the ministry we are doing here to be meaningful and reach the hearts of the students.
John & Nichole
